The mission of the Fairbury Rural Fire Department is to work as a team in the protection of life, property, and the environment through proactive approaches in the areas of fire prevention, fire suppression, emergency rescue, and natural disaster response; and to provide mutual aid response assistance as requested or contractually required.

The efforts of the dedicated, unselfish, and well-trained personnel, who hold duty above self, will positively affect the quality of life for the community of Fairbury and the patrons of District 8.
