Enjoy the great outdoors with views of prairie vistas and oak woodlands along the historical Oregon Trail\, while chatting with park staff about the history and landscape of Rock Creek Station.\n\nParticipants can expect a laid-back hike suitable for beginners\, and all ages are welcome. The hike will take place on mowed grass trail with gentle moderate slopes\, starting and ending at the Visitor Center. The guided portion of the hike will be around one mile\, but participants are welcome to explore further on their own. After the hike\, hot chocolate and snacks will be available in the Visitor Center while they last! Be sure to wear clothing and shoes appropriate to the weather conditions and activity. Pets are allowed\, but must be on a 6-ft leash. \nA valid 2026 Nebraska state park vehicle permit is required for entry and can be purchased at the park on the day of the event.

Looking for nominations for the Community Service Award. Nominees should be someone who has contributed a considerable amount of their own time and effort to the betterment of the community.  This should be done on a volunteer basis over several years.  The services include but are not limited to educational\, recreational or cultural activities.  Active membership in service clubs\, fraternal groups and religious or church organizations should be given consideration in addition to individual activities.  Each elected and appointed position on governmental bodies are also indicators of community services.  Nominations must be submitted no later than Friday\, January 15\, 2027. \n
