Registration Open for Annual Optimist Youth T-Ball Program Club Seeks Volunteer Coaches
Fairbury – Today the Fairbury Optimist Club announces that registration is open for the club’s annual Youth T-Ball program which will begin July 6. Area youth who ages 4 or older as of May 1 are invited to participate in free, instructional T-Ball. Sessions will be held each Thursday in July at the Fairbury Softball Complex ending with a Family Finale/Picnic on July TBA.
Bats, balls and tee will be provided by the Optimists, participants should bring their own glove. Please mark your child’s name on the glove. T-shirts will be provided those registered by June TBA. Forms are available for download from FairburyOptimists.org, Fairbury.com or pickup a paper form at the Fairbury Chamber of Commerce. Returns completed forms to the chamber. Registrations will be accepted after June TBA, and on site, but shirts are not guaranteed.
“Our program is meant to expose young children to the basics of baseball/softball,” Heather Watson, program chair said. “We are also looking for volunteer coaches to help lead practice and teach theses basics.” If interested, in coaching please contact Watson at 402-587-2539.
